Adding License type and Roles to a New User | PPS v4.0.28
Important to note that only the Administrator can create a new user
This screen is accessed from the Red gear in the "Manage This Account" option and by selecting the "Users"
Every user included in the system can have a license type associated to them and a user role. The user license type will be one from the following list. Selecting a user license type does not mean that this user will consume one of the concurrent licenses straight away, this will only happen when they log in. The user license type only defines what the user will have access to when they log in.
- a full user – the user can log into the web application or a mobile device
- a web user – the user can only log into the web application
Disregard device licenses as these do not pertain to PPS
Editing User License and User Role
Once the user license type is selected the user can also have a set of roles associated with their account. This means that the user will have access to certain options in the system i.e. a web user may not have access to working on orders. These options are created and editing in the "Manage Roles" option in the same drop down from the Red Gear as shown above. The User roles are selected from a list. The example shown below has the standard roles and a number of custom roles. You can create as many User Roles as you want, however ideally you group the types of roles for each user types i.e. shippers or packers.
